Food Order is a student project that demonstrates how a web server can receive messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform. It is a learning prototype, not a live restaurant ordering service. Do not use it to submit payment details or other sensitive information.

Information this project handles

When a WhatsApp message is sent to the project’s test number, the webhook processes the sender’s WhatsApp phone number and the message text so the project can demonstrate receiving and responding to messages. The current prototype prints this information in the developer’s local server terminal for debugging. It does not save messages to a project database.

How information is used

The information is used only to demonstrate message receipt and webhook behavior. If the prototype’s reply feature is enabled, it may send an automated acknowledgement to the person who messaged it.

Service providers

Messages are sent through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform so WhatsApp can deliver them and provide webhook notifications. Meta handles information under its own policies. See the WhatsApp Privacy Policy. This project does not sell message information or use it for advertising.

Retention and deletion

The project has no database for message content. Debug output may remain visible in the developer’s local terminal until that output is cleared. Information handled by Meta is subject to Meta’s own retention and deletion practices.
